The Star of Zion Diamond

The Star of Zion Diamond

Not to be confused with Embee Diamonds’ Magen David Diamond, the Star of Zion weighing in at 85 carat in its rough form, was found in 1917 in Barkly West, South Africa. It was sold for a mere $34/carat (around the price you’d expect to pay for boart)- the highest price ever paid up to that time for a rough diamond of its weight.

Present ownership, shape is unknown.
