Tanzanite: The Story Behind the Stone

It’s found in only one place on earth, and it’s violet, purple, and blue hues have made it one of the most coveted gemstones in the world.  Hayley Henning, from the Tanzanite Foundation, will take you on a Tanzanite Experience, using an interactive, pictorial presentation.  You will leave this session with a greater understanding of how this precious gem moves from mine to market, and learn ways you can use tanzanite and it’s story to inspire and encourage sales.  But that’s not all!   Not only can tanzanite help grow your business, but Hayley’s passion and enthusiasm will be the spark to need to ignite your own excitement for tanzanite, colored stones, and giving back to the community.

Dave Mitchell is back! Some members have called him Conclave’s’ “best speaker ever”! In Dave’s session “The Power of Understanding People” he will help you better understand your own and other’s unique interactive style, which will make you a more insightful communicator, leader, sales professional, and customer service provider.  You will walk away and be immediately able to fine-tune your relationships with customers, colleagues, family members, and friends.  NOTE: This session alone is worth the price of the entire Conclave X-Press!  This info-filled, energizing training event will be the perfect balance of strong content, laugh-out-loud humor, and audience interaction.

Daily Operations and Trade Show Security

Skydas International, a security company dedicated to the jewelry industry, will present a hands-on seminar that might be your most effective security session yet.  Lower your risk and learn how to spot unusual behavior, how to minimize exposure to criminal activity, and how to operate safely and effectively not only just at home, but at trade shows.  Skydas International will also be offering their security services to JCK Las Vegas attendees.  Knowledge is the only asset that cannot be taken away from you!  As they say at Skydas, “Hope is not a Plan.”  Come to this session and get your own plan.

Light Performance for Dummies

The Cut Grade King, the Guru of the Triple Zero, the indisputable light performance expert we all know and love, Peter Yantzer, will break it all down in a way you can understand. We’re excited to have Peter present his session “Light Performance for Dummies.” All the questions you had about cut grading and light performance but didn’t know how to ask will finally be answered. And truly, there is no better expert at 3-D light performance than Peter Yantzer, Executive Director of AGS Laboratories – where cut grade history was made nine years ago.  Learn what the lab has learned about what’s really important when it comes to light performance.  Some factors are much more important than others.  There are great values and profits to be made, if you know what to look for.

Making Millennials Work for You

 

Lisa Bridge, of Ben Bridge Jeweler will offer a unique and useful insight on the upcoming generation, the millennials.  Millennials are predicted to outspend their parents, the Baby Boomers, by 2017.  The future of many jewelry businesses and the industry rely on this young generation of workers. In her session “Making Millennials Work for You,” she will cover concepts about the market opportunities this group present, what they are thinking, and how to reach them in their purchasing journey, as well as how to optimizing your business by using them as staff in your store.  Not only as a millennial herself, and speaking about it first person, but Lisa is also a very active and passionate chair of the Young Titleholder’s Committee of the American Gem Society.  She has her finger on the pulse of millennials, what they want, and how they can work for you in more ways than one.
